When we make different facial expressions, lines and creases begin appear in our skin, which over time form permanent wrinkles. Muscle relaxant injections can be used to limit the appearance of facial wrinkles, and are commonly recommended as a preventative measure for people who excessively sweat. Wrinkle injections, more commonly known as Botox, are the most common form of non-surgical treatment, performed on men and women in countries across the globe. Treatable areas include:

  • Vertical lines in-between the eyebrows (known as Glabeller lines)
  • Horizontal frown lines on the forehead
  • Lines gathered in the corner of our eyes (known as crow’s feet/laughter lines)
  • Under arms (to prevent excessive sweating)

Procedure

During Botox, injections are made into the targeted area in order to block nerve transmission, which renders them less active. By making these muscles less active, the appearance of wrinkles is reduced and the skin becomes smoother. The results of Botox are temporary and generally last between 3 and 6 months. Patients that have had numerous treatments usually report longer-lasting results.

Recovery

Botox is a non-invasive procedure and you will be able to resume your daily activities straight after your treatment.
